This very charming, French inspired Santos beauty has the unusual feature of a carved bodice. She is 27 inches tall, with a 6.75 inch base. Her body is painted in a delicate sage green, with blue-green trim at her neckline.
With her charming, porcelain-like complexion, she has painted auburn hair, coral blush and lips, and dark brown eyes. Her earlobes have small holes in them for you to hang earrings from should you wish to do so.
She is completely hand painted and distressed. Therefor brush strokes and other hand-painted/-crafted evidence (such as mild irregularities in varnish, finish, or tiny embellishments in hand painting, for example) might be present. They should not be considered flaws, but instead a character of your individually hand painted work of art.
This cage doll is articulated with moving shoulders, elbows and wrists for limited movement. No permanent poses in the elbows and wrists. Joints may not move symmetrically - i.e. one wrist may have more movement than the other. This is common, as they are hand carved and jointed by hand. She is a combination of wood and resin, for perfect detail.
Fashioned after the antique Spanish, Italian and French Santos, they are carefully hand crafted. To make the hand painted doll unique, the craftsmen distress it; picking & choosing from a range of faux aging techniques. Variations occur with each handcrafted piece, particularly when being 'antiqued'. This is character, and not a flaw. Read more about that here.
