This beautiful lady is a vintage-style Santos Cage Doll. She is very light skinned, to replicate a style of vintage Santos that has been carved from ivory. She has rosy cheeks and beautiful blue eyes, molded reddish-golden hair, earrings (NOTE: this Santos didn't use to have these, so some pictures may not yet reflect this change.) and a blue body, cage and base with an antique finish. She is approx. 27.5" tall, with a 7.5" wide base.
The crown shown in the second photo is our 3.0 inch Jeweled French Star Santos Crown, sold separately.
The lady's upper arms rotate slightly, and she is jointed at the elbows for limited movement. No permanent poses.
She is a combination of wood and resin, for perfect detail. Hadn't we known differently, we could have sworn that she was 100% carved out of wood!
Fashioned after the antique European Santos, they are carefully hand crafted. To make the hand painted doll unique, the craftsmen distress it; picking & choosing from a range of faux aging techniques. Variations occur with each handcrafted piece, particularly when being 'antiqued'. This is character, and not a flaw. Read more about that here.
