This is our most popular doll, and it is no surprise with the beautiful expression on her face. It's complex, and interpreted differently, depending on the eye of the beholder. This is a vintage reproduction Santos Cage Doll, 27" tall with a 7.5" wide base.
Her creamy earth tone color would be beautiful holding a birds nest with speckled eggs inside her cage, or a richly colored bouquet of flowers. The doll is wooden, with head and hands made of cast resin, which has been hand carved, sanded and hand painted. It's common to see separation and associated marks between neck and torso and/or between torso and cage.
The lady's elbows & hands are jointed, providing her with limited motion/postures. Variations occur with each handcrafted piece, particularly when being 'antiqued'. This is character, and not a flaw. Read more about that here.
