Our tall and beautiful doll is quite mysterious with her bright eyes and dark dress. This is a vintage reproduction Santos Cage Doll, 31" tall with a 7.5" wide base.
In years past, many of these dolls were made by pouring plaster in to molds for heads and hands, and attaching to wood torsos. These days, the torsos and cages are still wood, but plaster is a combo of resin finished with plaster, which has been sculpted, sanded, and hand painted. This joint where the head plate and the torso meet is visible, in a handcrafted vintage fashion.
The lady's elbows & hands are jointed, providing her with limited motion/postures. Variations occur with each handcrafted piece, particularly when being 'antiqued'. This is character, and not a flaw. Read more about that here.
This doll will match beautifully with antique decor, vintage decor, religious relics, European, South American, Central American decor. Doll can be dressed in skirt, used to hold trinkets inside the cage, or even as a doll dress form. Her stormy color would be beautiful holding a birds nest with Robins eggs, or a bouquet of mixed shades of roses.
