This tall, beautiful Santos in a metal skirt has the most serene expression. Her molded reddish brown hair matches perfectly with her blue dress. She is hand painted and distressed.
This lady is an articulated Santos with moving shoulders and elbows. Her metal skirt has a pretty waistline, and her top and skirt are hand painted to match.
She is a large, heavy doll and has a 9.5 inch base that she stands on. She'll need a table or deep mantle piece to hold her. It's hard to describe her presence. She's magnificent! She'd be perfect as the centerpiece of a buffet table.
Fashioned after the antique European Santos, they are carefully hand crafted. To make the hand painted doll unique, the craftsmen distress it; picking & choosing from a range of faux aging techniques. Variations occur with each handcrafted piece, particularly when being 'antiqued'. This is character, and not a flaw. Read more about that here.
She is a combination of wood and resin (plus some metal joint pieces), for perfect detail. Hadn't we known differently, we could have sworn that she was 100% carved out of wood!
